I've left my fans hanging quite some time, ja? It has been a long time coming, but achtung! The Gavinners are at long last ready for a global audience. Whether you are in prison or in Berlin, you too can experience the raw power of our band!

For those of you who are just tuning in, the Gavinners are an alternative band brought together by two passions: music, and the law. We are all involved in the justice system, but we also all share a love for rock-- a medium, mind you, that is traditionally characterised by rebellion against authority figures. The band was founded by myself and Daryan Crescend, an aspiring cop, and we have since been joined by Isaac Mallard on bass (Secret Service), Dexter Morgan on drums (Orange County Medical Examiner's Office), and Wesson Foster with keyboards (Dept of Corrections.)

The music we play speaks to both sides of the law, and every one of my men is uber-talented. If you have not been able to attend our sets at Jammin' Java, you can see it here now. I bought a digital camera just for the occasion; we can't all fit in the frame of my webcam, after all.

First up, we present a full cover of "I Fought the Law." My personal acoustic cover can still be found in my first entry on this journal.

[insert suspension of disbelief here]

Next is a song that will speak to anyone who has witnessed a life spin out of control, as so many of us have inside the justice system. (Wesson's choice!)

[more suspension of disbelief right here (and sorry I couldn't find a decent video that actually began at the beginning)]

And here is where we really rock. (D-man's pick!)

[It's the Gavinners, no rly!]

The Gavinners have original music in the making, but though it has been played at Jammin' Java I am unsatisfied that it's polished enough to be recorded for posterity. Perhaps next time, ja?

Herr Ambassador, we are willing to bring our act to Cohdopia at your convenience. Also too, the day we filmed this set is the day I took notes of my schedule for you.

Achtung! My adoring public can stop worrying: Klavier Gavin's in perfect health once more.

...Well, maybe not perfect, but I'm getting there. I recorded something a little more low-key for you tonight; as you can probably tell, I am still congested and a bit hoarse. High time I made a comeback, though, ja? I can only apologise that it sounds so raw.

Achtung, I'm sure my fanbase has been wondering what's become of me. No Youtube videos, you say? No comments or updates, or any sign of Klavier Gavin on the internet at all? I'm sorry to report that on Muttertag, I came down with the 'flu. It's a huge milestone: the first time I've been sick with no mother around to nurse me back to health. I had to handle it on my own, like an adult.

So I brought a pillow, blanket, and surgical mask to work, and curled up on my desk to get through my paperwork. Fortunately I did not have to appear in court this week. I didn't have to leave the office. A very nice lady from the secretary pool brought me Jamba Juice on her coffee breaks, and soup from a nearby bistro for lunches. (Don't worry, I have paid her every cent that she spent on my rations!)

I think I'm finally getting over this, but I'm still turning in early tonight. D-man, I haven't canceled our Jammin' Java slot for tomorrow, but I am so congested in my chest I will not be singing. If you don't think you can lead the show alone, give the cafe notice, bitte schoen.

Muttertag

Everyone has been writing about their mothers today, but how can we praise them highly enough? They give us the world, and all we can give them in return is a card, a song, and a kickass new PDA. I would not be who I am-- I would not even be-- if it weren't for meine Mutter. She gave everything to see me enter the IB diploma class at twelve, and the sky has been the limit from there. I have my mother to thank.

But achtung, enough about me! The world is your oyster, people, and your mother is the most precious of pearls in it. Have you thanked her today?

Achtung! I would like to register my disappointment in the LA Times. The front page of tonight's edition covers the trial of Shadi Enigmar (a.k.a. Zak Gramarye), as well it should. I take umbrage, however, with the focus of the article. “Phoenix the Forger? LA's Legend Implicated in Fraud.” Tell me, why should we glorify the crimes of this unscrupulous defence attorney, rather than to laud the hero who brought his crimes to light? I would very much have liked to see my own face on the front page of the Times. But what can you do? It is only my second disappointment today.

The first was not being allowed to finish presenting my case against Enigmar. His face, too, is on the front page. If you have seen him, do inform the police. We have unfinished business, and I hate to leave a mess.

But this is not why you are reading my Livejournal, ja? Let us lighten the mood. I have just recorded a new song on my webcam, here:

ETA: Ach, so even Youtube is going to disappoint me today? I cannot embed the video! That is it, I am going out for a beer.

Hallo again! Did you miss me? Of course you did!

This has been a busy week for me. After the shenanigans of the police auction, I put myself to the task of learning to ride my new motorcycle. It's awesome. I finally learned how to balance, but my bruises are more purple than my shirt! I'd post pictures, but it has come to my attention that there are children on this feed.

Achtung! I have also started a band. We are still holding auditions for drummers, but until we have our act together you can catch us at Jammin' Java Saturday nights.

But it has not been all fun and games. Achtung! I have finally persuaded my mentor, Prosecutor Lee Shore, that I am ready to run a trial on my own. He was preoccupied as ever with a raid, but when I took his keyboard away and threatened to delete his druid's zehr expensive plate armour, he was keen to talk man to man, ja? I will pick my first case from next week's docket. This will be sweet!

Achtung!

Hallo, America! Are you ready to rock?

My name is Klavier Gavin, and I have just relocated to Los Angeles to work for the High Prosecutors' office. I originally took the bar exam in Germany, but how could I resist the opportunity to rock the American courts, as well? My brother Kristoph is a renowned defence attorney on this side of the world, and I am hoping to face off with him one day. Until we reach that day, I hope to expand my horizons. I am in America, baby! I have created this blog to make contacts here, and accordingly, all my entries will be in English. (Mostly.) This local feed is a very exciting innovation.

I am also a musician. I play guitar and I sing, and I hope one day to be a rock star, although my true calling is the law. I have a Youtube channel, under the same username as my LJ, but the content is primarily in my native tongue for the moment. Still, I have one cover recorded in English.

I was inspired to record this after my experience with customs, specifically Borginian customs. I was treated like a thief. I was strip searched. (No easy task, given that I wore seven layers to keep my baggage under the weight limit.) And to add insult to injury, they confiscated a packet of marzipan balls I was going to eat on the flight. I was feeling quite rebellious when I finally landed on American soil, and after I slept off the jet lag, I had to record this song. I would have uploaded it sooner, but the hotel in which I stayed charged $10/day for in-room internet access. Now that I have found an apartment and installed the utilities, perhaps I will be discovered, ja?

[insert suspension of disbelief here-- no really, it's Klavier]

Gute Nacht, Amerika!

Planning and concrit post

What I'm going to do with my life )

Hey everybody! This is Cori, the brains behind Klavier Gavin for [livejournal.com profile] gyakusai_rp. I may be a rock star, but I couldn't do it without my fans! But if you're not a fan, that's fine, too. Either way, I want to hear from you. How's my driving? Do you love my interpretation of Klavier? Hate him? Love to hate him? I'm open to suggestions if you think I need to improve, but of course, I also take fan mail!

This forum can also serve as a dropbox for scene suggestions. As you see above, I'm keeping a to-do list of logs I want to write, and I can only hope I never reach the end of the list. If there's something you would love to see Klavier do, suggest it here and I'll see if I can make it happen, for the fans!
